Working with Global Settings

Use the Page Layout tab to set the content width and the Left/Right margin space.

To set the width and space:

1.Log in to Neurons for ITSM as a Self Service user, and then switch to Administrator.

2.Click Edit Page on the top-right corner of the page. The Page Designer page appears.

3.Click Global Settings, and then click Page Layout.

4.Specify the following details:

•In Content width as Boxed or Full Width. With Full Width you can specify the Left margin and Right margin from 24px to 48px.

•In Grid Spacing you can specify space between Horizontal (Column) and Vertical (Row) from 8px to 24px.

Use the Default Banner Style tab to set a banner with a default image, color, and text across the workspaces.

To set the default banner:

1.Log in to Neurons for ITSM as Administrator, go to Configuration console > Build > User Interfaces Styles > Style Editor.

2.Select the edit icon in Action column of the Self Service role in Exceptions / Custom roles column. The Page Designer page appears.

3.Click Global Settings > Default Banner Style.

4.Enter the following details:

•Upload a Banner Image.

•Define a Background color.

•Enable Use color as image overlay to overlay the background color on banner.

•Select a Text Color.

You can customize a banner from the Settings panel.

•To add custom banner for different workspaces, select Use custom banner style. Choose a Banner Size (Small. Medium, or Large).

•You can also choose to Display Banner or hide banner in different workspaces.

•Enable Welcome Message to add Message Text and Message Sub Text on the banner.

•Enable Search with its PlaceHolder Text, and select Search Bar Size.

You can customize the banner style for different pages from the Setting Panel of different Pages. Also, if you have an old Section with background image as banner, you need to remove that section and enable the banner again to reflect the custom Banner on Self Service home page.

Use the Logo tab to set your logo for the workspace.

To set the logo:

1.Click Edit Page on the top-right corner of the page. The Designer page appears.

2.Click Global Settings, and then click Logo.

3.Specify the following details:

•Site Logo

•Logo Spacing

•(Optional) Enable separate logo for mobile and Enable Favorite icon.

You can also use the edit and delete options to upload a new logo and delete the logo.

Use the Typography tab to set the primary, secondary, and body default font and size.

To set the typography:

1.Click Edit Page on the top-right corner of the page. The Designer page appears.

2.Click Global Settings, and then click Typography.

3.Specify the following details:

•Primary font

•Primary font default size

•Secondary font

•Body default font size

Use the Buttons tab to configure the look and feel of the buttons displayed across the pages.

To configure the buttons:

1.Click Global Settings, and then click Buttons to preview. (Optional) Click to edit the background color, text color, border type, and border radius of the buttons.

2.Click Ok.

3.You can also click Reset to default style to reset to default.

Use the Header tab to display the title on the header of the page. You can set the title text color, background color, and icon color.

The icon color will be applied to all icons in the header, including the menu icon.

To configure the header:

1.Navigate to Global Settings, and then select Header.

2.Provide the following information:

•Toggle the Show title button to display or hide the title.

•Enter the Title text.

•Choose the Title text color.

•Select the Background color.

•Specify the Icon color.

3.Optionally, enable or disable the Search bar, Alerts, and Shopping cart features based on your requirements.

Use the Menu Navigation tab to edit the workspace name and display text.

To set the menu navigation:

1.Click Global Settings, and then click Menu Navigation.

2.Select or clear the check box for the workspace that you want to display, and clear the checkbox for the workspace that you do not want to display.

3.(Optional) Click to change the display text for a workspace name that you want to change.

4.You can also click the Select All checkbox to display all the workspaces.

Use the Additional Settings tab to enable or disable the following features: 

•FAQ

•Welcome Message

To set up the welcome message on the Self Service Portal Home page, enter the Message Text, Message Sub Text, and select the Welcome Text Color under the Welcome Message section.

To dynamically include the user's name in the "Message Text," use the placeholders #firstname and #lastname. For example, if a user name is Test User, enter Welcome #Test #User. The welcome message will display the user's name as "Welcome Test User".

You can also use the Translator link to translate the Message Text and Message Sub Text into your preferred language.

Use the Chat Support tab to enable, disable, or edit the Chat with Support and Chatbot features in the Self Service.

You also must enable the Enable "Chat with support" button option in the Role Details configuration to use chat support in the Self Service. Refer to Creating a Role.

To enable or disable chat support:

1.Select Global Settings, and select Chat Support.

2.Select or clear the Chat with Support and/or the Chatbot checkbox to enable or disable the chat options.

When both options are enabled, the Chat with Support and Chatbot icons are visible in the Self Service UI.

To edit the Chatbot button and integration settings:

1.Select the Edit icon for the Chatbot entry to open the Chatbot Settings form.

2.Edit the button styling message and color settings as required.

3.Select the Integration tab. The Integration Type drop-down dispalys "URL"; this is currently the only selection available.

4.Enter the URL for the Chatbot you want to connect to in the text box.

5.Select Apply.
